Lower Penscawn used to belong to the Duchy of Cornwall along with three other farms located down the back lane from the house. The house dates back to the 18th Century and for a time was forgotten about, the house has since been lovingly restored back to it's former glory and we work hard to maintain it for our enjoyment and that of our guests.
Lower Penscawn is a dog friendly B&B that is well loved and sits in almost 3 acres of land including a two acre field perfect for a nice walk around to give your dogs a run.

Our land also includes our chicken houses and free run that can be found complete with seven lady chickens that provide us with lovely fresh eggs every morning for your breakfast! This summer we are planning to make a new duck house and will soon have two Aylesbury ducks to add to our growing family.

At the side of the house we are currently preparing the land ready for starting our first full vege patch which is very exciting. Our seedlings of tomatoes, leeks, peppers and chillis that we have started off inside are already doing really well and we will soon be planting our potatoes, carrots, onions and shallots straight out on the plot.

We are only 13 mins from the famous surfing beaches of Fistral and the beautiful Watergate Bay where you can walk your dogs along the full stretch any time of year. Jamie Oliver's famous restaurant Fifteen is also located with a great see view looking out over Watergate Bay, the atmosphere and food are exceptional.
If you wish to go and visit the pretty cathedral City of Truro and explore a lovely mix of shops then you can be there in 15 mins.
There are many Cornish family attractions close by including the Eden Project, DairyLand, Newquay Zoo, Surf schools offering lessons to most ages & many adventure parks.

For professionals & groups who travel by air...you are in luck as Newquay airport is only 15 mins away.
Two well known local Restaurants are only 15 mins on foot and serve lovely hearty food with families and children welcome at any time. The Plume of Feathers is very popular with locals and Viners who's chef was the first to win a michelin star in Cornwall.
