Pentlow Tower is seen for many miles and is a folly built by the Rev Bull to see 48 churches from the top. Pentlow Church itself is famous for its round tower built in the 14th century. Recently Nethergates, a micro brewery, moved to the village and the village pub, The Pinkuar Arms, has reopened.
Cavendish - Splendid Church and thatched cottages. It has stong Sue Ryder links. Within walking distance, it has 2 pubs serving food.
Clare - Medieval wool town with Ancient House, Castle Country Park and Priory. It has several restaurants and pubs.
Long Melford - Another wool town. Famous for longest high street in England full of antique shops and boutiques. Trinity Church has 180 ft nave and over 100 windows. Kentwell Hall & National Trust Melford Hall are both open to the public.
Sudbury - The birthplace of painter, Thomas Gainsborough, this is a larger town with Launch trips along the River Stour and the Quay Theatre.
Lavenham leading in to Constable Country - officially has over 300 buildings of historically and architechural interest including the Guildhall.
